Turning thirty, their adult lives so different from what they imagined, our heroes embark on a crossing to California. It's 1870 and the train is open to the Pacific. But, that would be the easy way.

Rattlesnakes, cliffs, Banditos, inappropriate footwear, Indians, General Custer, bad guys, good guys, more bad guys -- it's the story of America and the story of our two favorite heroes trying to be heroes one more time.

Mark Twain suggested that it might be "worth while to take up the story of the younger ones again and see what sort of men and women they turned out to be..." Well, growing-up for real isn't for sissies, and it damn near kills Huck and Tom.
